RenEarl Bowie is the Captain in
charge of the Texas Department of Public Safety-Private Security
Bureau. Captain Bowie has 14 years of experience with the department.
He began his career as a Trooper assigned to the Highway Patrol
Service. Captain Bowie promoted to the position of Sergeant and later
Lieutenant in the agency’s Criminal Intelligence Service. In 2005,
Captain Bowie transferred to the Private Security
Bureau-Investigations Section to oversee the bureau’s enforcement
activities. |

Captain Bowie received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from
Texas State University in 1993 and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice
from Texas State University in 1999. He is currently an adjunct professor of
criminal justice for Concordia University, Austin Community College and
Northwestern University Center for Public Safety-Evanston, Illinois.
