The presentation will also include a discussion of the costs associated with open records requests and suggestions for keeping costs to a minimum. Taline will also discuss new developments in open records laws and the additional resources available to the public through the Office of the Attorney General. Taline Manassian joined the Austin office of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, LLP, in 2007 and has been a licensed attorney since 1998. She represents individuals, businesses, and governmental entities in litigation involving business, civil rights, First Amendment, and copyright and trademark issues. She also handles open government issues, privacy concerns, and prepublication review and clearance work. Taline recently spoke on Open Meetings under Texas law at “Responsible Rights: Government in the Sunshine” presentations by the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas. Additionally, in 2007, Ms. Manassian completed the First Amendment Leadership Program presented by the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas. Taline is a member of the Texas Bar Association, the Austin Bar Association, and the Austin Young Lawyers Association. She volunteers with Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas and the Austin Bat Cave – a non-profit organization dedicated to developing the writing skills of students ages six to eighteen. She also serves as a member of the board of the LBJ Library Future Forum, a membership organization of the LBJ Library and Museum that encourages young leaders to participate in the library and become active in the local community. Taline was raised in Corpus Christi. She is a graduate of The University of Texas and of The University of Texas School of Law.
